Q: Is Higher Education Institute of KARWAN (HEIK) a registered Higher Education Institute with Afghanistan Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE)?
A: Sure, HEIK is registered with Higher Education Ministry of Afghanistan. For more information please visit MoHE's official website http://www.mohe.gov.af/?p=private
Some courses are registered with Ministry of Education of Afghanistan as well, for each department on the website there is enough information.
Q: What does MoHE stands for and what does it do?
A: MoHE stand for Ministry of Higher Education and it is the sole Higher Education Regulatory Authority in the country. To perform full functions and deliver Higher Education in Afghanistan every Degree Awarding Institute and University requires registration with the MoHE initially.
Q: How long is each semester of bachelor program continues?
A: There are total 8 semesters for bachelor program and each semester continues for 18 to 20 weeks, other 4 weeks include semester exams and holidays.
Q: How long is each bachelor program?
A: Bachelor programs are taught and managed for 48 months that is four years.
Q: What documents are required for admission?
A: Your school graduation is compulsory and original ID cards plus 2 photos are needed before show up for entry test, if you don’t have certificate of school graduation you can participate in entry test and can bring original copy within one month.
Q: Do you have distance learning programs?
A: For bachelor program we don’t have distance learning but we have lauched our Distance Learning Program through Distance Learning and Adult smentoring Unit (DLAMU) run and managed by the HEIK alongwith other training courses coming in October, 2010. None of the universities are authorized to run distance learning program in Bachelors.
Q: In what language do you teach bachelor programs?
A: BBA, Economics and Computer Science are taught in English and Law and Political Science are taught in Dari/Pashto languages. For detials visit each department sub pages.
Q: I am not living in Kabul, can I complete my application online or send the scan copy?
A: Sure, you can pay your entry test fees by bank and send the scan copy of your application form on the email. You should appear for entry test in Kabul, please find contact list on the website.
Q: I studied my school out of Afghanistan, can I start bachelor program?
A: If ministry of education of Afghanistan attested your school graduation certificate, sure you can join bachelor programs.
Q. I am working in Kabul now, if my job change can I transfer my credit to any other private universites in the provinces?
A. You can write an application and after approval our university and the other private university registered with ministry of higher education can be transfered and you can continue studying there.
Q: What time do you have classes?
A: We have classes in the early morning and evening and very few classes during the day and we motivate students to study during the day as well.
Q: What is deffernt than others, if I join Karwan?
A: You will feel really different, now we focus a lot on quality than before and don't think for quantity of students. We involve our students in different activities and group work to enhance their skills and knowldge, as our students applied for jobs, the employeers are happy to offer chance to Karwan students.
