HEIK Library is housed in a spacious independent hall located on the top floor of the Main Campus. It is well equipped with the latest books, periodicals, magazines (technical and non-technical), as well as regular textbooks. It has also a good number of other general reading material in languages like English, Dari and Pushto etc. The library has a good collection of 2,500 plus books, which include various encyclopedias, handbooks etc.
The library provides a book bank facility to poor and deserving students, and has 350 sets of book banks in addition to the regular collection. The library also has a good number of journals specifications in its collection, catering to the needs of different exams.
The ground floor of the library is used as a reading room. The library is open from 6.00 am to 7.30 pm and entry to the library is restricted to students who have a valid HEIK ID. After presensenting their ID, each student is allowed to take two textbooks on days determined by library staff. If the student fails to return the book on time, a fee is levied against the student. There is an overnight facility provided at the time of final exams and failure to return overnight books by the following day, results in a fee. Taking the book outside library premises without proper permission also will lead to a fee.
The library is in the process of building an internet facility. Both the staff and students can use the internet facility.
