In this faculty there are two registered departments with Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan. One is Law and the other is Political Science. These two make up the Faculty of Law and Political Science.
The departments at HEIK were established to create a unique learning environment that provide superior legal education and brings together a diverse group of students, faculty, scholars and professionals from a variety of disciplines in an effort to broaden all perspectives.
The faculty provides an education that is rich in theoretical and practical knowledge, Both of which are invaluable to lawyers, judges and scholars of law, diplomats and policy analysts.
HEIK Law & Political Science Faculty are comprises of outstanding scholars who possess PhD and Masters Degrees from universities in USA, Egypt and other international universities. Most professors are often recognized as national and international experts in their respective fields.
With PhD degrees and experience from international universities the professors will impart a unique knowledge of comparative study in contemporary Law and Islamic jurisprudence to their students.
The faculty intends to design for its senior students, clinical and practical training of legal skills. This will be achieved by requiring that students attend real courtroom cases and client clinics so that the students develop into outstanding well-informed lawyers. The fully-equipped classrooms, with modern audiovisual facilities, the library with legal sources in Dari, English and Arabic languages, and faculty members’ personal attentions to students needs, will give students every edge in achieving their educational goals.
Course Structure The first two years are general courses for all students. Students will receive general classes in law and political science in addition to Islamic jurisprudence studies. Once the general courses are successfully completed, the students shall choose one of the following departments for the continuation their education for next two years:
