In this faculty there are two registered departments with Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan one is Law and the other one is Political Science, that is called Faculty of Law and Political Science.
The departments at HEIK has been established to create a unique learning environment, that provides a superior legal education in the broadest sense and which brings together a diversity of students, faculty, scholars and professionals from a variety of disciplines in an effort to broaden their perspectives.
The faculty provides an education that is rich not only in theory but also in teaching the skills needed to groom effective lawyers, judges and scholars in law, diplomats and policy analysts in the interest of Afghanistan.
HEIK Law & Political Science faculty comprises of outstanding scholars who possess PhD and Masters Degrees from universities in USA, Egypt and other International universities and who are often recognized as national and international experts in their respective fields.
With PhD degrees and experience from international universities the scholars will inculcate among its students a unique knowledge of comparative study in contemporary Law and Islamic jurisprudence.
The faculty intends to design, for its senior students, clinical and practical trainings of legal skills, by making it compulsory for them to attend real courts cases and client clinics so that they develop into outstanding lawyers after completion of their education. The fully-equipped classrooms with modern audiovisual facilities, the library with legal sources in Dari, English and Arabic languages and faculty members’ personal attentions to students needs will help them in achieving their educational goals.
Course Structure
The first two years would be general courses for all students. They will receive general classes in Law and Political Science in addition to Islamic jurisprudence studies. Once the general courses are successfully completed the students shall choose one of the following departments for the continuation their education for next two years:
