Dear Students! Welcome to the HEIK Faculty of Computer Sciences and Information Technology. The subject of Computer Science & Information Technology has gained unprecedented importance and has significantly affected every sector of human activity. The Govt. of Afghanistan realizing its importance in our present and future socio-economic life has evolved an IT policy and action plan. This provides for development of human resources, infrastructure, software and hardware industry and undertaking a massive IT promotion and awareness campaign. Thus a large pool of academically and technically skilled IT manpower would be developed to meet the national requirements. This will provide many opportunities as well as challenges for those who graduate and specialize in Information and Communication Technology.

Now as the Current world is considered a global village due to the rapid flow of Information from one place to another, the one who can share and access this information is considered a part of the global village. The astronomical growth in computing compels the whole professional world to re-orientate their efforts to maximize utilization of computing in their professional activities. This enables the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology at HEIK, which is primarily responsible to create trained manpower, for devising programmers that will lead to an optimum utilization of computing in different spheres of life. There is a tremendous challenge to create well equipped computing professionals who have the ability to expertise to respond adequately to growing needs of the industry.
